Behaviour Change Communication and demand generation for Childhood Diarrhoea Management through the use of Zinc/ ORS (DAZT) in the districts of Bihar




The assignment aimed at sensitizing community for treatment of childhood diarrhea through Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) and mid media activities so as to contribute towards reducing childhood morbidity and mortality in the state. The direct educational and awareness activities were undertaken in Nalanda and Sheikpura districts of Bihar. To enable this TRIOs deployed of 5 member team and mobilized and trained of 200 Village level Community Mobilizers (VCMs) in 500 selected villages. IEC and BCC material was also developed by the exerts of TRIOs.

It was estimated that the project directly cover 20,000 community groups (SHGs, MGs, VHSCs)  including children groups in schools during orientation sessions and also reach out to 3,20,000 persons in project areas indirectly i.e. through mid and mass media activities and messages spread by the community groups or school children oriented under the project.
