Operations Research and Capacity Need Assessment for the project ‘Campaign for Education, Prevention and Treatment of Tuberculosis (CEPT- II)” in collaboration with Tuberculosis(TB) Associations in Tamil Nadu- TB Alert, UK.
TRIOs has associated with TB Alert India to undertake an Operations Research for the project ‘Campaign for Education, Prevention and Treatment of TB (CEPT- II)” in Tamil Nadu. This Project is funded by TB Alert UK with a grant from the Big Lottery Fund in the UK. TBAI is sister concern of TB Alert in the UK. All of its projects aim to supplement the National TB Program (NTP), mobilize and link local communities in fighting against TB.
The operation research consisted of an evaluation and need assessment to understand how members of TB associations were delivering the envisaged responsibilities, what skills they had possessed, and in what areas they required capacity building to perform the expected roles. The assignment included a KAP survey of TB association members along with in depth discussions with stakeholders especially people who had or currently suffering from TB.
This research enabled TB Alert India to understand the gaps in the project design and suggested revision/ additions in existing strategies to achieve the intended goal of the project.
