Final Evaluation ofTB Advocacy Project (TAP) to curb the spread of TB-HIV infections and Improved access to TB services for under served communities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (TAP)- TB Alert, UK

TB Alert launched the TB Advocacy Project (TAP) in 2011 to curb the spread of TB-HIV infections. The program is funded by the Department for International Development.

The project was   implemented in six districts of Andhra Pradesh i.e. Prakash, Nellore, Krishna, East Godavari, Vishakhapatnam, and Srikakulam. The project areas included underserved mountainous areas where myths regarding TB and HIV are prevalent and access to services is poor. Poor access coupled with lack of active case finding means that early identification and testing remains a challenge and it is essential that information and opportunities for testing are provided to mitigate this situation.

As the evaluation aimed at final assessment of the TB Advocacy Project, the Randomized Absolute Experimental research design Before-and-after-without control was used to examine the achievements of the desired indicators.”
