Promoting Maternal and Child Health, generating Demand for Family Planning services in Ujjwal Clinics focusing families under Rashtriya Swashtya Bima Yojana (RSBY) and Biju Krishak Kalyan Yojna (BKKY) in Odisha- DFID supported “Improved Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services
Department for International Development (DFID) as part of its ‘Improved Family Planning (FP) and Reproductive Health (RH) Services in India – Project Ujjwal’, was catalyzing private sector to scale-up availability of good quality, affordable family planning and reproductive health for women and men particularly from the poorest sections in Odisha. The project aimed to reduce maternal deaths from unwanted pregnancies and fertility rates by increasing use of FP methods, improve birth spacing practices, and prevent unsafe abortion.
Futures Group has engaged TRIOs to undertake demand generation activities in the 8 districts- Puri, Khurda, Bhadrak, Sambalpur, Anugul, Ganjam, Jajpur and Bargarh of Odisha. TRIOs engaged a team of 9 members in these districts and they undertook demand generation activities via group meetings with community members for the above services.
