Research and Evaluation- Baseline study to assess the KAP of adolescents on education, life skills and gender in the National Capital Region, Delhi- Magic Bus India Foundation
Magic Bus works with some of the world’s poorest children and young people, taking them from a childhood- full of challenges to a life with meaningful livelihoods. The organization equips young people with the skills and knowledge they need to grow up and move out of poverty. The youth-centered Livelihoods Programme connects the aspirations and potential of young people to available market opportunities. The organization builds their employability skills and maps job potential based on individual strengths and mobility.
Currently, the organization reaches 3500000 children and 10000 youths in 22 states and 68 districts and over 3000 communities.Education and life skills enable adolescents to better engage with transitions so that they can optimize their own potential and contribute positively to society. In backdrop of this rationale, Magic Bus, in collaboration with Hero Honda Hero Moto Corp Ltd, is planning to implement a multi-layered project to enable improved education participation and outcomes for 8000 adolescents from underserved communities in North, South and East Delhi.
TRIOs has been engaged to design and conduct the baseline study for the program to gauge the current levels of knowledge, attitude and practices of the adolescents in the domains of education, life skills and gender. The study is being carried out following a case control (difference in difference) methodology, covering the target groups of adolescents and parents in 3 districts of Delhi. The other processes under the study would include, hiring and training of field team, data collection using CAPI technique (android based Survey CTO application), monitoring quality assurance of field work, data processing and analysis and preparation of study report.
The study findings and recommendations would be used for advocacy with key stakeholders, refining implementation plan and evaluation of output and outcome of program at mid and end line stages.
