Research on Child trafficking: Baseline Assessment for strengthening prevention, prosecution and protection services for children at risk of or subjected to trafficking for labour in the state of Andhra Pradesh and the city of Bangalore-Plan India
The Plan India, in association with organizations in Andhra Pradesh and Bangalore attempted to strengthen prevention, prosecution, and protection services for the children at risk or subjected to trafficking for labour in Andhra Pradesh and Bangalore. Services of TRIOs were hired to conduct baseline survey to gather the data and establish indicators on the issue for monitoring and benchmarking the results and impact of the project.
In addition, it proposed to identify the hotspots and profiling the role of duty bearers to address this. The base line study used two stage 45X10 cluster sampling with the mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. Report was submitted that outlined the key indicators, the context of the child labor and the roles of duty bearers, to provide support to Plan India and its partners in addressing this issue.
