Dr. Aravind has over 30 years of work experience in development sector. He has worked with the United Nations and International non-governmental organizations. He has been a Lead Consultant for several State Governments for developing national health programs including Reproductive and Child Health Programs and the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
Earlier, he was the Regional head of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for Gujarat and Rajasthan. As India Representative of the HIV/AIDS Alliance UK, he initiated the establishment of its operational base in India. He has also served as General Manager, Aga Khan Health services in India. He has demonstrated excellence in Policy Support, Program Management, Networking, Donor Relations/ Coordination, Advocacy, Institutional Management, Resource planning and Management, Activity Based Planning and Result Based Management (RBM), Development of Institutions, Community Mobilization as well as developing sustainability strategies for programs and organsiaitons.
At TRIOs, apart from leading the organization, Dr. Aravind has led key assignments that include Team Leader and Principal Researcher for several state and national level research and evaluations. He was also the Principal Investigator (India) for a collaborative research with London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to undertake research on Social Franchising for Maternal health.
Dr Aravind has a unique background in Public Health, Economics and Management. He has Master’s Degrees in (MA) Economics, Management (MBA) and Doctorate (PhD) in Health policy, planning and management from Birla Institute of Science and Technology (BITS), Pilani, India. He has also done specializations in Hospital Management from Boston University, USA and Health Management from Mahidol University, Thailand. He has contributed to several national and international forums and has several publications to his credit.
