Dr. Aravind Pulikkal (Managing Director)

Dr Aravind has over three decades of experience in health and development sector. He has served at senior level positions within UN system, International non-governmental organizations, corporate sector, and government. His areas of expertise include decentralised planning, project designing and management, policy support, special studies, and evaluations.   He is also an expert in capacity development programs (both LMS based, and classroom based) and in planning and managing large scale projects with diversified geographical coverage.

Dr. Aravind's academic background uniquely integrates technical and managerial aspects of development sector. He holds a master's degree in (MA) Economics, (MBA) Management, and (PhD) Doctorate in Health policy, planning and management from Birla Institute of Science and Technology (BITS), Pilani, India. He has also done specializations in Hospital Management from Boston University, USA and Health Management from Mahidol University,Thailand. He has contributed to several national and international forums in various capacities and co- authored 11 publications in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Subir Rana (Senior Research Manager)

Subir is a Sociologist by training and has over ten years of experience working on the DNTs of India on questions dealing with their marginalisation, stigma, poverty and human rights. He has looked into issues of their education and the ways in which they stake claim to commons and citizenship. Subir is also interested in the politics and aesthetics of protest movements of the 21st century particularly those involving youth and mediated by new age technology and tries to critically analyse themes related with democracy, nationalism and academic freedom. He has worked in various capacities with think tanks and funding agencies.

Subir has presented his papers at national and international seminars and conferences and invited for Workshops and Summer Schools. He has many seminal publications to his credit in leading journals and has chapters in edited books and has received prestigious national and international awards, fellowships and travel grants. Recently, he was selected for the 2021 MSM Bright Suns Scholarship and was elected as the Vice Ambassador for India (2021-23) for EASA’s (European Association for Social Anthropology) AAN (Applied Anthropology Network).
